ChatGPT can use BrowserPair to carry out tasks in the Chrome profile you already use. ChatGPT decides what to do; BrowserPair keeps it inside the limits you choose and executes each step in its Chrome extension.
Until BrowserPair is listed in the ChatGPT directory, add it as a custom MCP connection in developer mode. Developer mode availability depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings.

Add BrowserPair

1

Connect your browser

Pair the Chrome profile you want ChatGPT to use. See Quickstart.
2

Turn on developer mode

In ChatGPT open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
3

Add the connection

Open ChatGPT’s plugins page, choose +, name it BrowserPair, and enter the server URL https://mcp.browserpair.com with OAuth.
4

Allow it in BrowserPair

ChatGPT sends you to BrowserPair. Check that the identity is published by chatgpt.com, choose the browser, websites, permissions and approvals, then select Allow. See Connect an AI app.

Try it

  • “Which of my browsers are connected to BrowserPair?”
  • “Open example.com in my browser and tell me the page heading.”
  • “Look up Ada Lovelace on Wikipedia in my browser and give me her birth year.”
When a step needs your approval, ChatGPT tells you to approve or deny it in the BrowserPair card in Chrome. Ask ChatGPT to stop a task at any time; work already done on websites is not undone.

Limits

ChatGPT can never make payments, change sign-in or security settings, or see passwords, one-time codes, card numbers or other sensitive data through BrowserPair. Each task uses one BrowserPair task credit once your browser accepts it.

Disconnect

Remove BrowserPair in ChatGPT, or select Disconnect under Agent access → Connected apps in the BrowserPair App. Either way ChatGPT loses access immediately.
